Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig Sept. 21 in 1983) is a famous American actress. Most notably, she appeared as Shannon Rutherford from ABC's Lost TV series as well as Kim Mills for the Taken Trilogy. Maggie Grace was born in Worthington in Ohio. She was kicked out of school after her parents split up to move to Los Angeles to live with her mother. Though she struggled financially, her 2001 debut was as Rachel's Room's main character. She went on to earn an Young Artist Award nomination in 2002 for her performance as 15-year-old murder victim Martha Moxley in the television movie Murder set in Greenwich. Grace played Shannon Rutherford on the Lost television series in 2004. The show featured her as the principal role for two seasons, and also won the Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace has worked alongside Tom Welling on The Fog in 2005, was looking to go into the world of film. She appeared as Kim Mills opposite Liam Neeson (both in Taken the year 2008) on Suburban Girl as well as The Jane Austen Book Club. In 2008, she reprised the role Taken 2 (2013) and Taken 3 (2015). In addition, she played Alice in Malice in Wonderland which is an updated version from the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace reprised Shannon's role as Shannon in Lost for two episodes, which included the series final. Grace appeared in Californication's 6th season that aired from 2013 until the year 2014. The character she plays is Faith she is an admirer and muse to the actors. Hank Moody as played by David Duchovny falls in love with her. She is a member of the Gyllenhaal family, she is the daughter and elder sister to the actor Jake Gyllenhaal. When she was in her teens, she played small parts in her father's movies and she co-starred alongside her sister in Donnie Darko which is a popular cult movie. The next film she appeared in was Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, both 2002 and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was nominated to win the Golden Globe Award in both the romantic comedy Sherrybaby (2005) and the romance comedy Secretary (2002). Both films were critically acclaimed. In the wake of several successful commercial films such as World Trade Center in 2006 her name was recognized more widely in the role of Rachel Dawes (the superhero) in The Dark Knight (2007). In 2009, she received a nomination for the award of Best Supporting Actress at the Academy Awards for her role of a single mom as she appeared in Crazy Heart. Following that she was a part of comedies as well as dramatic movies: Nanny McPhee & the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011, and Won't Back Down 2012. The other roles she's played includes Secret Service agents in White House Down (2013 an action thriller) and actors in Frank (2014 and drama The Kindergarten Teacher 2018) in addition to the role of the Kindergarten teacher. Gyllenhaal began her career as screenwriter, director and writer in the year 2021, when she directed and wrote the psychological thriller The Lost Daughter. The film won Best Screenplay at The Venice International Film Festival, and was later nominated by the Academy Award.
